PETER BROOK, CH, CBE, born in London in 1925, began his professional career at the age of 19 and quickly established him as one of Britain’s leading
directors in theatre, film and opera.

His films include: The Lord of the Flies, Marat-Sade, King Lear, Tell Me Lies, Meetings with Remarkable Men, and of course The Mahabharata.

In the 1970’s Brook founded the International Centre of Theatre Research in Paris, and the International Centre of Theatre Creations, where many of Brook’s productions were staged.

He has authored several books, including the influential The Empty Space, published in 1968 and translated into 15 languages.

Peter Brook passed away in 2022, leaving behind a legacy of innovation and artistic excellence that continues to inspire new generations of artists.
