Series Special Presentation

In this special presentation, the festival is bringing the first three episodes of Late Bloomer, a new comedy series from Canadian comedy phenomenon Jasmeet Singh Raina (also known as Jus Reign), to audiences in the UK. Inspired by Raina’s life as a Punjabi Sikh millennial and online celebrity, the show follows burgeoning content creator Jasmeet Dutta as he tries to balance his ambitions for success with his commitment to his family, community and culture.

Peter Huang

Peter Huang is a filmmaker based in Toronto, ON. He started his career in development at Colony Pictures (now Collective Pictures), where he co-produced the Netflix feature CODE 8 (starring Robbie Amell, Stephen Amell, and Sung Kang).

Peter then pursued his passion for directing by moving into music videos and commercials. His work with artists such as Avicii, Eminem, Martin Garrix, Jessie Reyez, and SonReal has landed an array of wins and nominations at the Cannes Young Director Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, Prism Prize, iHeartRadio Music Awards, and Juno Awards.

In 2017, Peter’s short 5 Films About Technology screened at Sundance, where it was acquired by Neon and played theatrically with Nacho Vigalondo’s Colossal. The hit short was then adapted into Nine Films About Technology for season 4 of FX’s Cake. He has also directed for CBC/Netflix’s Workin’ Moms and CTV/Roku’s Children Ruin Everything.
