The Satyajit Ray Short Film is a celebration of new filmmaking talent that explores themes of South Asian experience either in South Asia (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc) or in the Asian diaspora in the UK or globally. It particularly aims to highlight work that in some way links to the humanist vision of the great Indian director Satyajit Ray.

All short film entries will be considered for the Satyajit Ray Short Film Competition and the finally selected 6 films will be screened at the festival. Other short entries may be selected to be screened at the festival if they tie into a particular theme of the year.

Shorts should be no more than 2 years old and no longer than 20 minutes in duration. Films are not eligible for resubmission if previously considered by the festival. Any language is acceptable but all films are required to be English subtitled.

All films for consideration should be supplied on a Vimeo link.
